RESIDENTIAL - FOOTINGS & BLOCKWORK

E-Z Masonry also works with a variety of concrete masonry units for numerous applications.  From underpinnings and additions to partition walls and garage bases we have you covered.  All of our masons are trained in the proper techniques for placing standard, lightweight and decorative block  along with proper placement of vertical and horizontal reinforcement.  We can retrofit structural members to modify existing openings or tooth in details where impact or damage has occurred

Under every house is a foundation, and under most foundations are footings. We often take footings for granted, and in ideal conditions we can.  But at E-Z Masonry we understand that proper footings are essential to the overall integrity of most above grade structures to disperse concentrated loads and or to mitigate frost action.  Soil conditions are a first consideration when determining the size, spread and quantity of your footings.  When questionable soils are present we have soil engineers at our disposal to consult and specify as necessary.

E-Z Masonry also provides full service excavation with all footing installations to maintain the highest construction standards.  Whether we are installing frost piers for a deck, spread footings for an addition or grade beams for helical pier or pilings; extreme care will be taken to provide the structural support required with minimal tolerance for settling.  When we excavate for footings it is understood to avoid disturbing virgin soil.  Every effort must be taken to establish proper depth of excavation and continue to monitor this during the dig.  To do this we utilize laser technology for the most accurate depth measurements and guidance. Over digging can stir up the soil and mix air into it, decreasing its density.  Loose soil has much less bearing capacity than the original soil therefore we promise to employ proper excavation and compaction methods at the bottom of every footing we install.
